Fitness is a lifetime journey. Whether we take an active part in it is up to us.
When I was about 7 years old I started to put on weight by being very sedentary, watching TV, playing video games, eating school lunches, and too much of mom's good cooking. The pounds started to add up. I struggled with my weight from then till I was 20 years old. In 2001 at 5'6in tall I hit my heaviest at about 220lb. The weight gain plus realizing some other lazy behaviors that were affecting my school work and life all became a personal alarm for me to wake up. I realized it was time to take control of myself. I decided to become PROACTIVE about important things in my life. I started watching my diet and exercising. By October 2002 I was down about 70lb. Weighing 145lb I was thin but not healthy or as tight as I'd like to have been. Through the next 20 years, I've continued to learn and improve my health. Not just eating for weight loss but eating for health and strength. Also tailoring my workouts to where my body is and what my goals are. In 2008 I became a personal trainer and in 2016 I started PROACTIVE Health & Fitness! Now in my 40s, I continue to take an active part in my health and fitness.
Fitness is a lifetime journey. You can just let it happen or decide to take an active part in it like I did. In the past 40+ years, I've been overweight and also have been a little too thin. But I finally gained muscle and learned to keep a fitness level that I enjoy and can comfortably maintain in my life. But there was a point in my life where I had to take PROACTIVE steps to make it happen!
Let my 15+ years as a professional personal trainer and my own transformation experiences be a tool to assist you in becoming PROACTIVE with your Health & Fitness no matter where you are at in your journey.
